Case study 081211 Liam Hiatt Foundation
The first annual Liam Hiatt Art of Living Gala, hosted by legendary journalist Bill Kurtis, was held to raise funds for Liam's care and to increase public awareness of Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The event included cocktails and dinner, silent and live art auctions, live entertainment by the Dan Hayes Orchestra and an award presentation to politicians who have advocated for families touched by Duchenne. The fine art focus of the gala seemed a natural extension of Liam’s artistic talent. One of his pieces — a signed original bright oil pastel landscape — will be auctioned off at the event.
The client understood events well and came to the table knowing what needed to be delivered and the general tone of the desired presentation. Beyond using the specific portrait of Liam, the details were open-ended.
One of the essential objectives was to create a brochure and a companion website that informed the attendees of the collection of art to be auctioned and facilitate private bidding online. The design of the tickets, bookmark, and online presentation followed the direction of the brochures. It was great to have many wonderful pieces of art to work with like the one that served as the visual on the bookmark.
Stephen, Thank you for the marvelous work you did for us for the event. Several people mentioned that they loved the programs, and the website. Even the bookmark was a hit. - The Hiatt’s
