He rented a mountain bike for me as a present and as he took off for the local coffee shop to read, I took off to ride as much of the infamous Leadville 100 that I could fit into the day that remained. I had my camera — a nice point-and-shoot — in my jersey pocket and somewhere on the first descent it flew out. I’m pretty certain I know exactly where. Unfortunately I didn’t recover it. Then a little further along the route I came across this awesome waterfall. When I stopped to take a few pictures I discovered there was nothing to take pictures with! Until I remembered my phone could help me out. So thankfully I was able to capture the beautiful scene with a camera that was well-suited enough to give me the information I needed to create this painting.
